Pat Peterson

In 1999 the first Mar Vista Community Festival was the brain child of Pat Peterson and the first Mar Vista Park Advisory Board.  Pat, the mother of five park loving children, wanted to give back something to the playground and sports programs that her family used regularly.  When she first joined the PAB she was told it was just an advisory board. 

Five years later that same PAB was known city wide as the most active and successful fundraising group supporting park programs anywhere. Pat helped organize fundraisers, beautification days, chaired the festival committee, coordinated volunteers, and kept everyone organized.  Today, with her kids all grown up, Pat is back on the current festival committee helping find sponsors, organizing donations to the silent auction, arranging for moon bounces and again coordinating volunteers.
