Homewatch CareGivers West LA

When you hire a caregiver for yourself or a loved one you want to know that it is safe to have them in your home and also that this will be a positive experience for all parties. We have invested in training caregivers, checking on the backgrounds of our employees, requiring CPR/first aid certification, and we offer you the chance to interview the prospective caregiver in advance.

Once a caregiver is in place, they will be part of creating a customized care plan that takes into consideration the unique preferences and interests of the client. This is about quality, not quantity, so we can be there as much or little as needed.

At Homewatch CareGivers of West Los Angeles, we believe that having a plan of care is essential to ensuring that our clients receive the care that they need and want. Our planning begins with a detailed assessment, developed by a nurse and enhanced with the Eden at Home principles. We’ll talk through where you are with the basics of health: eating healthy meals, getting enough to drink, taking medications accurately and on schedule, getting physical exercise, getting mental and social stimulation, and making sure those things that are simple pleasures in your day don’t get overlooked.  We’ll talk about activities of daily living and whether any help is needed with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and walking.  We’ll discuss the household activities that keep a house running, such as grocery shopping, getting to appointments, doing dishes, sweeping and vacuuming, laundry, etc.  Then we’ll produce a detailed plan of care that we’ll all use as the guidelines for what we’ll expect of the caregivers working with you.  We do this free of charge when you contact us for a free assessment.

    Poetry for the People

Visit Erika Lane at the Heroes Wall from noon to 4:00 and give yourself the gift of poetry. Give her a color, a place and a feeling  and she will write a poem for you on the spot. Or just share a mood. Perhaps there is a Hero you would like a poem for?  A loved one you want to honor? Surprise someone with a poem just to see them smile.

Erika has been writing poetry since she was 10 years old when she wrote her first poem called "love." She has been published a couple of times, and is looking forward to publishing a book of her own soon. She got a typewriter a couple of years ago, because she has always been a fan of old fashioned and classic things. She loves the way it makes words look, and it gives what she writes a nostalgic and unique feel.
