2014-15 will be the fifth year in FIRST for the Venice High Robotics Club! In their Rookie year, they won two awards at their tournaments. Last year they reached the semi-finals at the Monrovia Regionals. They have also participated in many outreach events including the Abbot Kinney Festival and local schools. They are the first and only FTC robotics teams in West LA.
One goal of their team is to promote science, technology, math, and engineering skills to their school and community. Their team gives students the chance to acquire and apply skills in public relations, media, finances, marketing, and most importantly engineering in an environment that encourages creativity and ingenuity. By participating in the FIRST competition, they will work in an environment similar to that of a real workplace, meeting the expectations of deadlines and working as an unit to accomplish multiple goals that eventually lead to success.
