Yoga at the Fall Festival at 10:15!

At 10:15am, please help us kick off the festival by connecting with your community through body and breath. Laura Fuller will lead some moving and breathing that will be enjoyable for all ages. We will begin with a demonstration by some of Mar Vista's young yogis, and then we will all practice together, creating kind wishes, for a strong, beautiful community and a fun day at the festival. Please join in a circle together and find the deep connection that comes when we relate through feeling, health, and play.

This community yoga experience is brought to you by The Moving Joint, Mar Vista's new home for yoga and Pilates, aiming to help people find a deeper connection to their bodies and spirits through breath, movement, & focused bodywork. Owner, Alyson Boell-Marchand, saw a need for a movement home for the neighborhood and opened The Moving Joint in January 2012, built entirely non-toxic, sustainable, and allowing eco-conscious residents to find their practices closer to home.

Laura has been working with people’s souls through their bodies for seventeen years. For the past 7 years, she has been teaching in the Mar Vista area, bringing yoga to people of all ages. Laura also teaches teachers to work through yoga for special needs, teaches embodied gymnastics and practices Polarity Therapy. She began her studies as a teen in learning to work with her own challenges. She became interested in how movement and awareness could be used to process emotion and how, by feeling, effort, and metaphor we have the ability to change our own lives, and maybe more than that. She produces classes, camp and events to give people a sip of their soul, a comfort with their depths, and a good experience to remember. You can learn more about her classes and also share in community connection through the body by "liking" Life Moves Through ~ Yoga & Somatic Arts on Facebook.
